what if my camper is homesick?
Homesickness is a perfectly normal occurrence. Our directors and counselors are trained to help encourage campers and to keep spirits up.
Here are some useful tips to help prevent homesickness:
- Have a conversation with your camper ahead of time and let them know that it's okay to miss home, but to also know that they will have fun.
- Explain that the counselors and staff are there to help them if they're struggling.
- Send emails, letters, and/or care packages to your camper throughout the week.
- Let them know that they're feelings are totally normal, but also temporary, and that they will have a great time!
